Discovering the heart of a destination goes beyond ticking off famous landmarks or indulging in shopping sprees. True travel bliss, for me, lies in immersing myself in local markets, where the pulse of everyday life beats strongest. I’ve coined this sensation “Real Happiness in Travel”.
Let me take you back to my trip to Nice, France, in early September 2015. While the weather, architecture, and scenic vistas left me in awe, it was the “Morning Market at the Old Town” that truly stole my heart.
Every morning, the charming central street of the Old Town transforms into a bustling marketplace. Here, locals and tourists mingle, delighting in the array of offerings: vibrant flowers…
…luscious fruits…
…vegetables, and an assortment of nostalgic treasures at the flea market—depending on the day of your visit.
But this is merely a glimpse. There’s an ineffable magic to be experienced here that transcends words or photographs. If you find yourself in Nice, make sure to carve out time for this enchanting market.
